Great to see you! I’m Francis, a professional Videographer who specialises in Theatre and Live Performance.
My philosophy is that watching a filmed copy of your performance should feel as close as possible to how it felt being in the room on the night. The electricity between the actors, and energy in the audience, those qualities about live performance are impossible to truly recreate. But I can come close. I use the power of cinematic imagery, using the language we all know from movies, to make the moments in your show hit as hard as they can. Watching your show shouldn’t feel like someone put a camera at the back of a school play. If something worked on stage, it can feel the same way on camera.
I have 5+ years of experience across Perth, Melbourne and Adelaide. Over the course of my career, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with Crash Theatre Co. on their smash-hit original musical Lady Macbeth Played Wing Defence, selling out tours across Australia and Edinburgh, filmed The Chaser comedy troupe at the Atheneum Theatre, covered Brett Blake (Taskmaster Australia) and rising star Noah Szto (The Project) at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival for Token Artists Management, captured Circus Sorbet on their latest show SPYHARD, provided client work for the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development in WA and more.
I’ve filmed shows before audiences of 1000, rising in three storey balconies, as well as shows in tents, churches and hallways before a handful of people. I love theatre, and I know how it feels to pour months of work into your show, only for that all to evaporate once it’s over.
